Number of confirmed corona cases in Pakistan rises to 108,317



The number of confirmed cases in the country has jumped to 108,317 on Tuesday after new cases were reported in Sindh, Islamabad, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the national dashboard, 1,447 new cases were reported in Sindh, 456 in Islamabad and 16 new cases in AJK.
The national database stated that, 4,646 persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 in 24 hours.
As per sources, cases in Punjab mounted to 40,819, the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Sindh stood at 39,555, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases climbed to 14,006, in Balochistan 6,788 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases climbed to 5,785, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 952, while 412 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 2,172 deaths so far, after 105 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recorded 587 deaths, 683 in Punjab, a highest number as compared to any other province while 679 in Sindh, 14 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 54 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 52 deaths and AJK recorded nine deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 730,453 corona tests and 24,620 in last 24 hours and 35,018 patients have recovered across Pakistan.
Reportedly, 19137 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 8293 in Punjab, 3579 in KP, 2360 in Balochistan, 843 in ICT, 597 in GB while in AJK 209 patients have been completely recovered whereas many patients are in a critical condition across the country.
