Pakistan records highest single-day spike in coronavirus case



Pakistan on Wednesday has recorded largest single-day spike in coronavirus infections. 
The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan has reached 80,463, on Wednesday after new cases were reported in Balochistan, Islamabad and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) in the last 24 hours. 
In the last 24 hours, Pakistan registered 4,131 cases in a single day, its biggest spike since the novel virus outbreak began in the country.  
According to the national dashboard on coronavirus, 295 new cases were detected in the federal capital, 226 in Balochistan and 13 new cases in AJK. 
As per official data, cases in Sindh mounted to 31,086, the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 29,489, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases rose to 10,027, in Balochistan 4,740 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases jumped to 3,188, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 779, while 284 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
Moreover, the virus claimed 1,688 lives in the country after new deaths were reported across the country.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 595,344 corona tests and 17,370 in last 24 hours and 28,923 patients have recovered across Pakistan while many patients are in a critical condition.
