Sindh government spokesperson Murtaza Wahab on Thursday announced that the coronavirus testing lab established at Karachi University Research Center would become functional from today onward. 
Taking to Twitter, Murtaza Wahab said "#SindhGovt has established a #COVID?19 laboratory at the International Center for Chemical and Biological Research, Karachi University. It has become functional from today with a capacity of 800 tests a day." 

He informed that "The lab has the capacity to carried out 800 tests per day and would prove to be a real asset going forward in the fight against an invisible enemy." 
The number of confirmed cases in the country has mounted to 10,513 on Thursday after 742 more infections were reported in different parts of the country.
The national database on coronavirus showed that, cases in Punjab jumped to 4,590 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Sindh stood at 3,373, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases climbed to 1,453, in Balochistan 552 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases climbed to 204, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 290, while 51 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
According to official data, 2,337 patients have recovered across Pakistan while 58 corona patients are in critical condition.
The deadly virus claimed 15 lives in the last 24 hours, bringing the national death toll rose to 224.
