Five health
professionals, including two lady doctors, were diagnosed with coronavirus in a
Ratodero, Larkana, Sindh province on Thursday, according to District Health
Officer (DHO).
According to district health
authorities, three doctors among five are medical officers at taluka hospital
Ratodero, while two female corona positive doctors were performing their duties
at basic healthcare centres.
Nine family members of infected
male doctors also tested positive for the virus, while the reports of other
members are still awaited.
The infected doctors and family
members have been isolated at home.
The COVID-19 quickly spread
across the globe that has started late last year from Chinese city Wuhan. The
countries affected from the disease across the world forced to impose lockdown
to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Pakistan is also facing acute
situation as the virus cases are rapidly increasing and continue to hit
precious lives while the health providers working on front line are also
falling prey to the pandemic.
As per sources, as much as 273
doctors, 75 nurses and 171 health staff members infected from coronavirus so
far.
The number of corona infections
in Sindh rose to 9,093 with 171 deaths.
