The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Pakistan has jumped to 184 after 150 new cases were reported on Monday.
The number of cases increased sharply after more cases were reported in Sindh province yesterday with 119 people testing positive for the virus in Sukkur.
Sindh government Spokesperson Murtaza Wahab said yesterday that 119 cases were reported in Sukkur, 30 in Karachi and one case in Hyderabad.
Earlier, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Minister Taimur Jhaghra confirmed the first 15 cases in the province.
The corona virus test came out positive in 15 of the 19 people who reached KP from Taftan, Taimur Jhagra said via tweet.
These patients have been quarantined in a separate building in Dera Ismail Khan.
On Sunday, Punjab had reported its first case, while the Sindh government had reported 18 new cases (13 from Sukkur and five from Karachi). One new case was also reported from Islamabad.
Globally, 162 countries have been affected, more than 7,171 people have died and more than 18,2598 infected by the disease called 'COVID-19', whereas 79881 people have recovered.
In China, death toll rises to 3226 in China, Italy to 2158, while 853 people in Iran, 342 people in Spain have been killed by the coronavirus.
The epicentre of the outbreak has now shifted to Europe, which is recording a rapid rise in new cases every day.
China reported on Tuesday just one new domestic coronavirus infection but found 20 more cases imported from abroad.
On Monday, mainland China had 21 new confirmed cases reported, the National Health Commission said, up from 16 a day earlier.
Of the new cases, 20 involved infected travelers arriving in China from abroad.
